Ben Rothwell calls for Andrei Arlovski 'dance' after first-round submission win at UFC Fight Night 68

That's actually not a bad idea.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Bizarre post-fight interviews aside, Ben Rothwell is making waves in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight division.

During last night's (Sat., June 6, 2015) UFC Fight Night 68 event in New Orleans, Louisiana, "Big Ben" earned his third straight first-round victory after choking out Matt Mitrione in the opening frame.

Video highlights here.

During his victory speech, Rothwell revealed that the only fight he's interested in next is a No. 1 contender's bout. And during the post-fight press conference (which you can see here), "Big Ben" went into a bit more detail, saying he's like to take on another streaking big man, Andrei Arlovski.

His words:

"My performances have slowed me down in the past. Now, I think I've made a case for myself and things are different. Three-fight win streak, three finishes, I think it's time we make something happen. I know the championship happens next week, I think Stipe (Miocic) has built up a good case and I think he should have the next challenge (for the title). So I think Andrei Arlovski and I should dance. He's ranked fourth and some people are already talking about him getting the next title shot. I think him and I should fight next. I know he has a bit of an injury and he's going to take some time off, but I'll be ready for him when he is."

Sounds like a fun scrap.

Andrei has also been making plenty of noise in the land of the big men since making his returning to the Octagon in June of 2014 by also winning three in a row, including his epic first-round knockout victory over Travis Browne at UFC 187 last month.

See it again here.

As it stands, Arlovski is sitting pretty at the No. 4 spot on the official UFC rankings, while "Big Ben" is holding steady at No. 9. Of course, you can expect that to change after Rothwell's latest victory. But will he jump up high enough to warrant a No. 1 contenders fight against "The Pitbull?"

We shall wait and see.
