UFC Fight Night 68 results: Ben Rothwell submits 'stupid' Matt Mitrione in round one

Two fringe Top 10-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight hitters, Ben Rothwell (No. 9) and Matt Mitrione (No. 13) went toe-to-toe tonight (Sat., June 6, 2015) in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 68, which took place inside Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

And it was "Big Ben" who inched one step closer to the top thanks to the cockiness of Mitrione ... and some surprising Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills.

Mitrione got the action started early with a straight left hand as he bopped around Rothwell, who employed a rather robotic defense. Mitrione landed a nice right, then dove in with another, as Rothwell fired back with a bomb along the fence.

Mitrione, inexplicably, dove in for a terrible takedown. Rothwell barely budged, and as the pair were getting back to their feet, "Big Ben" locked in a guillotine and then flipped "Meathead" onto his back with a modified grip that appeared inescapable.

Within seconds, Mitrione was tapping furiously and moments later could be seen mouthing the word, "stupid."

No disagreement here -- He made a critical mistake and Rothwell made him pay dearly.
