After capturing the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight title by submitting Cain Velasquez at UFC 188 a few weeks back (see it again here), Fabricio Werdum has plenty of options to entertain for his next fight.
Aside from potential championship contests against heavy-hitters such as Andrie Arlovski, Stipe Miocic, and Junior dos Santos, "Vai Cavalo" wouldn't mind entertaining a "super fight" against former light heavyweight kingpin, Jon Jones.
From his official Twitter:
Oq vcs acham de uma superfight eu x o @JonnyBones ? what you guys think about a super fight me vs @JonnyBones? Let's bring him back?
— Fabricio Werdum (@FabricioWerdum) June 29, 2015
Former champion Cain Velasquez was often linked to a fight against "Bones," so it's only right that Werdum steals that thunder away from him, as well.
But as entertaining as it would be to see Werdum and Jones mix it up inside the Octagon, it's a fight that will likely stay in fantasy land for quite some time. That's because "Bones" is currently taking time to himself to battle the demons that ultimately cost him his title and spot on the UFC roster, following a hit-and-run accident a few months back.
Once he gets his head straight again, there is still no guarantee he'll return to the eight-sided cage. For now, that means Werdum will have to focus on the task at hand.
And it looks like it's going to be one of these two men.
