Today is the big day!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will reveal its Reebok "Fight Kit" during a special media press conference today (Tues., June 30, 2015) in New York City, which means mixed martial arts (MMA) fans -- and fighters -- will get to see what the promotion's new uniforms look like.
In attendance will be UFC champions Robbie Lawler, Rafael dos Anjos, Chris Weidman, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Fabricio Werdum, Daniel Cormier, T.J. Dillashaw and Demetrious Johnson, as well as Rory MacDonald, Johny Hendricks, Miesha Tate, Cain Velasquez, Anthony Pettis, Ronaldo Souza and more.
With that kind of line up, expect fans to turn out in droves.
In roughly two weeks, the promotion will ban all outside sponsors from ZUFFA events; meaning, all athletes competing for UFC -- and their camps -- will be forced to wear Reebok-branded merchandise before, during, and after each event (details here).
Some fighters (like this one) have also secured separate Reebok sponsorships.
As for the rank-and-file, they'll depend on the new tier-based compensation system (see it here), which compensates fighters for time spent inside the cage. Get more details on everything related to the new UFC-Reebok deal in the live press conference video stream beginning at 10 a.m. ET in the video player above.
