Thiago "Marreta" Santos landed a picture perfect shin to the head of Octagon newcomer Steve Bosse to knock him clean out just 29 seconds into the very first round of their Middleweight match at UFC Fight Night 70 on FOX Sports 1 last night (Sat., June 27, 2015).
The connection was so perfect that Santos celebrated immediately, realizing Bosse was completely unconscious before he even hit the canvas.
It was a devastating finish:
Considering "Marreta" is sledgehammer when translated from Portuguese, that is a pretty appropriate nickname for Santos, who has now compiled impressive back-to-back UFC victories.
In fact, the knockout more than likely earned Santos an extra $50,000 "Performance of the Night" bonus, but it probably ruined the day of French-Canadian Steve Bosse, whose eight-fight mixed martial arts (MMA) undefeated streak comes to a violent end.
