UFC featherweight flunks drug test, has recent win overturned to 'no contest'

But denies any wrongdoing...

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight Rony Mariano Bezerra likes to call himself "Jason" after the masked serial killer, which may be apropos in this case, since he just machete'd his career like a horny teen counselor at Camp Crystal Lake.

Bezerra failed his UFC Fight Night 67 drug test for the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide, according to the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA), who overturned his first-round submission win over Damon Jackson back on May 30 to a "no contest."

"Jason" will also serve a nine-month suspension.

"I'm talking to my nutritionist and UFC doctors," Bezerra told MMA Fighting. "The only thing I used on the day of the weigh-in was vitamin C, so we're checking if any of the medication I used for my ankle injury has something to do with it."

His $50,000 performance bonus is also in jeopardy.

UFC is currently overhauling its drug-testing procedures, which will be overseen by a third party starting next month (more on that here). For more results and fallout from UFC Fight Night 67 click here.
