Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight up-and-comer Charles Rosa was the favorite heading into his UFC 188 showdown opposite The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Latin America" winner Yair Rodriguez at the "Velasquez vs. Werdum" pay-per-view (PPV) mixed martial arts (MMA) event last Saturday night (June 13, 2015) from inside Arena Ciudad in Mexico City, Mexico.
But UFC 188 just wasn't a good night for favorites.
Rodriguez flipped the script and won an electric back-and-forth split-decision over "Boston Strong" in a 145-pound war that was good enough to secure "Fight of the Night" when all was said and done (more on that here). "Pantera" improves to 5-1 with the victory, while Rosa drops to 10-2 in defeat.
Not that he'll lose any momentum after that gritty performance.
