Albuquerque Police Department has released additional body cam footage of the accident that Jon Jones allegedly fled on foot in late April, which caused him to be pulled from a title defense against Anthony Johnson in the main event of UFC 187, as well as stripped of his Light Heavyweight title and suspended indefinitely.
In the latest video, 911 audio can be heard, which describes the immediate aftermath, including the play-by-play of a female caller informing dispatch that the man in the SUV, which was rented to "Bones," was running away into a nearby gated community.
In addition, we see for the first time a roadside interview with Vanessa Sonnenberg, the (still) pregnant victim who suffered a broken arm in the collision.
Jones' cache of condoms, Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) paperwork, marijuana pipe and Funyuns are all once again on display, too.
The former 205-pound champion turned himself in to the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) "without incident," more than 24 hours after an arrest warrant was issued (see his mugshot pic here). He has already appeared in court (watch it here) and is expected to return soon to answer for the various charges.
Meanwhile, major blue-chip sponsors such as Reebok have dropped him from contracts, he has been erased from UFC's official rankings, and has endured significant backlash from his peers. Jones also had to watch (maybe) Daniel Cormier claim his world title on Memorial Day weekend.
It's been a brutal stretch. And it's unclear when he will return to the Octagon.
