Mexican boxing sensation, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez," returned to the ring tonight (Sat., May 9, 2015) to battle James Kirkland inside Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, in an HBO Boxing main event.

And it didn't last long. Canelo was ferocious from the opening bell, throwing just about everything but the kitchen sink at "Mandingo Warrior," who somehow managed to soldier through a total continued assault. Kirkland was wobbled at the end of the first round, but came out for the second stanza even stronger, likely puzzling Canelo.

Indeed, Kirkland was eating everything, except a thunderous overhand right along the ropes that spun him to the floor in an unconscious heap.

It was an incredible finish and a super fin fight while it lasted:
