UFC 189: Jake Ellenberger vs Stephen Thompson set for July 11 in Las Vegas

Make room for one more!

UFC 189 just got a bit more stacked, as Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) officials recently announced the addition of an intriguing welterweight showdown between Jake Ellenberger and kickboxing specialist Stephen Thompson.

You can stop peaking through the curtains now, Tyron Woodley.

The bout, which is expected to pop off on July 11, 2015, inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will pit two men who prefer to let the action play out  on the feet.

Ellenberger recently got back on the winning track by nearly choking the life out of Josh Koscheck at UFC 184 earlier this year. The win was much-needed, stopping the bleeding from the three-fight skid he was on, albeit it against top-notch competition.

Thompson is currently riding high with a four-fight win streak, most recently topping Patrick Cote at UFC 178 via unanimous decision. In fact, "Wonderboy" has been racking up the wins left and right with his lone blemish coming at the hands of Matt Brown in only his second fight inside the Octagon.

UFC 189 will be headlined by a featherweight title bout, as division champion Jose Aldo will defend his title against Conor McGregor. In the co-main event, Robbie Lawler will go toe-to-toe against Rory MacDonald in what will mark the first title defense for "Ruthless." Also on the card, Matt Brown faces Tim Means and Mike Swick returns from a three-year hiatus to take on Alex Garcia.
