In case you've never heard of Joe Duffy, he's the last man to defeat current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight contender Conor McGregor, when he and "Notorious" went head-to-head under the Cage Warriors banner back in 2010.
He's kind of a big deal.
But that could all change with an upset loss to the experienced-but-unheralded Ivan Jorge, who meets the 27-year-old Irishman at the upcoming UFC Fight Night event on July 18, 2015 inside SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, according to a report from Combate.
Duffy (13-1) made his Octagon debut with a thrilling knockout win over Jake Lindsey last March in Texas, in what amounts to his twelfth finish in 13 wins. Jorge (26-4), meanwhile, sandwiched Josh Shockley and Keith Wisniewski wins around a decision loss to Rodrigo Damm.
No other fights have been announced for the Scotland card, expected to air on FOX Sports 1; however, you can expect that to change sooner rather than later, since tickets go on sale on May 29.
Stay tuned.
