Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight No. 1 contender, Bethe Correia, has been earning headlines with her trash talk towards UFC champ Ronda Rousey, but it hasn't gone all that well for her thus far.
With "The Pitbull" hosting the UFC Fight Night 67 Q & A (watch the replay here) this afternoon (Fri., May 29, 2015) before the official weigh-ins (results here), everyone wondered if she could possibly manage to top her massively misplaced suicide barb at "Rowdy."
The results?
Throwing Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) legend, Vitor Belfort, under the bus for "surrendering" at UFC 187 last weekend against Chris Weidman in their co-main event slugfest (watch the highlights here).
Her words from Combate:
"I'm not afraid of anything because fear is not from God. I reject every negative feeling. Fear comes, but I reject. Vitor has his qualities, but I'm different from him. He has a different style from my fight, physical, psychological conditioning, he's a great fighter but not like me. I am a fighter growing, not down the head in pressure. I do not surrender, do not despair, I think through the difficulties. What I think happened with Vitor is that it was at a time of pressure and he lost a little direction. It was a very important title for him. He's a great athlete, but unfortunately the pressure of the belt weighed a little too much. But I wish you luck. I strongly believe in myself, in my striking. If I blow up the Ronda, and she come up to me, I will stand. I have great confidence in my potential.
Sorry Vitor, guess your apology didn't go over so well.
The talking between Rousey and Correia will finally end when the rivals settle their score on Aug. 1, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in a battle of unbeaten bantamweights looking to put on a show.
