Las Vegas, Nevada will have a heavy Irish presence come July when Conor McGregor takes on Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion, Jose Aldo, in the main event of UFC 189 on July 11, 2015.
Because if history has shown us anything, the hoards of faithful "Notorious" fans will make the long trek from Ireland to Vegas to support their fellow countryman in his quest for gold.
Which could be why Dropkick Murphys -- an American rock band whose music includes a heavy Irish influence -- chose "Sin City" as its starting off point for their upcoming international 19-city summer tour.
According to Boston.com, the group -- which owns a boxing promotion in Boston, Mass., -- will stage a free concert on July 10, 2015 as part of the festivities of UFC's annual International Fight Week, which takes places from July 7 to July 12.
Admitted UFC and McGregor fans, the band's most well-known song, "I'm Shipping Up To Boston," has served as the walkout song for Conor, as well as Forrest Griffin in the past.
