Considering how long these two have been competing in mixed martial arts (MMA), it's sort of surprising that this weekend will mark the first time they've ever thrown hands.
Better late than never.
Longtime welterweight contender and former interim champion Carlos Condit (29-8) returns to the fold for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 67 event on FOX Sports 1, scheduled to take place inside the Goiania Arena in Goiania, Brazil, on Sat., May 30, 2015 (see the full fight card here).
In case you forgot what "The Natural Born Killer" was capable of, here's his fourth-round destruction of Martin Kampmann from late 2013:
Impressive.
Waiting for him in the five-round headliner will be fellow ex-No. 1 contender Thiago Alves (21-9), who like Condit, is hoping to make another run at the 170-pound strap after battling injuries over the past few years. "The Pitbull" has a nice head start, already up 2-0 since his Octagon return in April 2014.
