So much for letting Daniel Cormier have his once-in-a-lifetime mixed martial arts (MMA) moment.
Shortly after "DC" submitted Anthony Johnson in the main event of UFC 187 last night (Sat., May 23, 2015) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada (watch video highlights here), the new Light Heavyweight champion settled in at the post-fight press conference (watch video replay here) to bask in the glow of his success.
And almost get into another fist fight ... with Ryan Bader.
Cormier and Bader were set to square off against one another at UFC Fight Night 68 on June 8, 2015, but after former champion Jon Jones was stripped of his title, "Darth" was left out in the cold. Bader apparently thinks Cormier has been ducking him and demanded that he gets the first crack at his newly-won belt.
It appears that Cormier is more than willing to oblige, declaring it would be an "easy paycheck."
Check out a different angle of the heated confrontation here:
Despite a current four-fight win streak, it's unclear at this time if Bader's victories over Ovince St-Preux and Phil Davis, as well as his two against Anthony Perosh and Rafael Cavalcante, are impressive enough to warrant the next shot at the title.
Especially if "Bones" plans to return to action anytime soon.
