Patrick Cummins vs Rafael Cavalcante set for UFC 190 in Brazil

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brass have put together an enticing light heavyweight clash as Patrick Cummins will take on Rafael Cavalcante at the upcoming UFC 190 pay-per-view (PPV) event planned for HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Aug. 1, 2015.

The fight was rumored earlier today, and was confirmed by Globo.

Cummins, 34, will look to bounce back from a devastating knockout loss to Ovince St. Preux last month at UFC on FOX 15. Prior to getting finished, the former barista had racked up three straight victories inside the Octagon.

As for Cavalcante, 35, the former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion has been unable to impress in his Octagon career, losing two of his three UFC bouts in a span of two years. The last time fight fans saw "Feijao," he was badly beaten at the hands of Ryan Bader in June 2014.

If the Brazilian can't pick up a victory in his backyard, he may earn the dreaded pink slip.

UFC 190 features the hotly anticipated main event between women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, as she takes on her rival and hometown favorite, Bethe Correia. In addition the Nogueira brothers will return to the cage as Minotauro faces off against Stefan Struve, and Rogerio battles Shogun Rua.
