UFC on FOX 16: Eddie Wineland vs. Bryan Caraway set for July 25 in Chicago

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight Eddie Wineland will return to action against Bryan Caraway at the upcoming UFC on FOX 16: "Dillashaw vs. Barao 2" mixed martial arts (MMA) event, scheduled for Sat., July 25, 2015 inside United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

UFC announced the pairing on Thursday night.

Wineland (21-10-1) has been sidelined for more than a year after breaking his jaw, the second time in his combat sports career that he's succumbed to that painful and debilitating injury. Prior to his layoff, the former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) champ was just 1-2 and struggling to find consistency in the 135-pound shark tank.

Caraway (19-7) is also coming off a loss after getting pushed around by top contender Raphael Assuncao in late 2014. "Kid Lightning," perhaps best known for his relationship with women's contender Miesha Tate, is 4-2 since making his UFC debut, with all four wins coming by way of submission.

UFC on FOX 16 will settle the longstanding score between reigning bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and the man he stripped of the title, Brazilian bomber Renan Barao. Elsewhere on the card, Edson Barboza tries to get back into the lightweight title hunt against 155-pound whiz kid Myles Jury.
