Is it because he destroyed your heroes?
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight kingpin Chris Weidman is still getting his share of grief, despite a handful of impressive performances inside the Octagon. Perhaps that has to do with the fighters he has defeated, his inability to stay healthy, or the fact that he says whatever is on his mind (for better or worse).
But UFC 189 headliner Conor McGregor thinks the "All American" isn't getting his due.
"Weidman has dominated Anderson Silva, he dominated Lyoto Machida," McGregor said while breaking down the UFC 187 co-main event, which takes place tomorrow night (Sat., May 23, 2015) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. "He probably doesn't get the respect he truly deserves, he's a phenomenal champion."
Will he get it this weekend in "Sin City?"
That depends on whether or not he's able to get past Vitor Belfort, who not coincidentally, has also struggled to get the respect of fans, as well as his peers, after a turbulent 2014. But that was then and this is now and like the old saying goes, fighting solves everything!
