Ronda Rousey sets two-year deadline for Cris Cyborg fight, then she's moving on

Many combat sports fans (along with a few pundits) believe that it's Ronda Rousey who doesn't want to make the much-anticipated "super fight" between herself and Cristiane Justino.

That's simply not the case, as "Rowdy" has repeatedly stated she would fight "Cyborg" at the drop of a hat, assuming the Brazilian can manage to make the cut down to bantamweight. Still, the roadblocks that have prevented the bout from happening may be a good thing.

That definitely was the case for the mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, as it led to the bout generating over five-million pay-per-view (PPV) buys, thanks in large part to the lies anticipation and build-up over the last several years.

And since Ronda and Cris have been at each other's throats for three years now, Rousey says she will keep hope that their fight happens within two more years, when the animosity between them reaches its five-year anniversary.

Her words on The MMA Hour:

"Pacquiao vs. Mayweather had a five-year build up and it earned 5.5 million buys. We are at about three (years). So I would say, I'll keep my hopes up until five (years), then I'm moving on after that."

In the meantime, Rousey will keep chugging along, as her next fight will be against another tough Brazilian, Bethe Correia, whom she'll face in the main event of UFC 190 on Aug. 1, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

That will also give "Cyborg" enough time to prove she can hit the 135-pound limit and earn herself a few more wins to prove she is deserving of a title shot, once she eventually crosses over to UFC.

One thing is certain, don't expect Rousey to coach against Cris -- or anyone else -- in an upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).
