After seeing this picture, I am fully on the bandwagon for Mark Hunt to retire.
The "Super Samoan" has been one of the toughest fighters in mixed martial arts (MMA) history, engaging in some of the greatest all-out wars fight fans have ever witnessed. In almost every occasion, Hunt has taken out his opponent, or he himself has gone out on his shield.
But last night (Sat., May 9, 2015) was too much.
The former K-1 champion was thoroughly outclassed by No. 4-ranked heavyweight Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC Fight Night 65 in Adelaide, Australia en route to a hellacious beating that lasted nearly 23 minutes (highlights here).
Hunt absorbed an inordinate and truly terrifying amount of punishment over four and a half rounds, and the referee failed him by not stopping the fight much sooner.
In the end, Hunt lost via fifth-round (technical) knockout, but the fight was over long before the stoppage came. Just look at how badly the New Zealander's face was busted up in between the fourth and fifth round, and the doctor somehow let the fight continue.
If you thought that was bad, check out this horrific picture Hunt posted on Facebook following the loss:
The old warhorse got beaten up sorry was to tired big mistake to be tired wen u facing the top end congrats stipe well done mate thanks for everyone's support

At 41-years old, and coming of his tenth career loss all via finishes, it may be time for the "Super Samoan" to hang up his gloves once and for all.
I for one do not want to have to watch Hunt get brutalized like that ever again.
