Highlights! Watch Robert Whittaker knock out Brad Tavares last night at UFC Fight Night 65

It was short, and it was violent.

Before the main event drubbing that saw Stipe Miocic utterly dominate Mark Hunt (highlights here), hometown favorite Robert Whittaker took on the stiffest test of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career t last night (Sat., May 9, 2015) in the UFC Fight 65 co-main event, as he took on No. 14-ranked Brad Tavares inside the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia.

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) "The Smashes" winner brought the thunder early on in the fight, closing Tavares' lights in ferocious fashion following a teep kick and a few left hands. The fight was over in a flash, with the official stoppage time coming in at 44 seconds of the very first round.

Talk about an impressive performance!

The win was Whittaker's second straight knockout in the 185-pound division, pushing his MMA record to 14-4. As for Tavares, the Hawaiian has now lost three of four following an impressive five fight winning streak.
