Whoops! 'Communication error' reveals positive steroid test from UFC Fight Night 62

Jason da Silva-USA TODAY Sports

Hey, remember when the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) said the UFC Fight Night 62 event on FOX Sports 1, which took place inside Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sat., March 21, 2015, produced no dirty fighters?

Yeah, forget that.

Jorge de Oliveira tested positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol following his submission loss to Christos Giagos (more on that here) and "Blade" has been suspended for one year, retroactive to the March 21 event date in Brazil.

MMA Junkie has it:

The CABMMA, in a statement, said a communication error was to blame for its initial announcement that all the fighters' tests came back clean. The commission said de Oliveira's sample was sent back a day apart from the initial report, which caused the delay.

Don't be surprised to see him released after losing two straight, especially with the promotion's new no-nonsense policy on positive drug tests.
