UFC Fight Night 63 fighter payouts and salaries for the athletes who competed at the "Mendes vs. Lamas" FOX Sports 1 event last weekend (Sat., April 4, 2015) from inside Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., were released earlier this afternoon by that state's Boxing, MMA and Wrestling Advisory Board.
Surprisingly, top-ranked Featherweight contender -- and two-time 145-pound unsuccessful title challenger -- Chad Mendes was not the top earner of the night, raking in $96,000 ($48,000 to show, $48,000 to win) for his destruction of Ricardo Lamas in the main event that lasted less than three minutes (video highlights here).
It was Clay Guida who scored the biggest payout, bringing in $100,000 ($50,000 to show, $50,000 to win) after he turned in a vintage -- and dominant -- performance at the expense of Robbie Peralta (read full recap here).
That's not all, including (perhaps) a moral victory for the dejected Jorge Masvidal (more on that here).
