Contender vs. pretender?
Two talented lightweights will lock horns in today's (Sat., April 4, 2014) co-main event of UFC Fight Night 63, as Al Iaquinta (11-3-1) and Jorge Masvidal (28-8) strut their stuff on the FOX Sports 1 broadcast from inside the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
What's at stake?
For starters, both "Raging" Al and "Gamebred" are hovering just outside the top 10 of their division, No. 15 and No. 14, respectively. In addition, it lets mixed martial arts (MMA) fans know if Iaquinta is more than just an iron-jawed puncher, while also establishing the future of Masvidal, who might be facing a "now or never" scenario in "Old Dominion."
Below are a pair of free fight videos to show you what each combatant is capable of, as they each dispose of previous Ultimate Fighter (TUF) champions with extreme violence.
Al Iaquinta by knockout!
Jorge Masvidal by submission!
Perhaps the winner can face the winner of Jim Miller vs. Paul Felder, who collide at UFC on FOX 15 later this month.
