Manager wants Ryan Bader to fight Anthony Johnson vs Daniel Cormier winner next

"In a perfect world," that's what would happen next for the streaking contender.

The trickle down effect of Jon Jones' latest scandal is being felt by quite a few innocent bystanders.

In more ways than one.

After "Bones" was stripped of his title and suspended indefinitely by Dana White and Co. for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run accident in Albuquerque, New Mexico (details), Daniel Cormier was pegged as Jones' replacement to face Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 on May 23, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While that's find and dandy for "DC" -- who gets a second shot at the Light Heavyweight title after losing to the aforementioned Jones at UFC 182 earlier this year -- Ryan Bader was left without an opponent for UFC Fight Night 68 because Cormier was supposed to be his opponent on June 6 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

According to comments Dave Martin, Bader's manager, made to "UFC Tonight," in a perfect world, "Darth" would sit and wait to face the winner of the upcoming title fight between "Rumble" and "DC."

"In a perfect world, this is what we want. We want to fight the winner of Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson. There is no one else that makes sense. Especially when you consider Alexander Gustafsson is fighting June 20th against Glover Teixeira. We're not just going to take a fight against someone just to take a fight. So in a perfect world, we want the winner, we want our title shot."

Currently, Bader is the No. 5-ranked light heavyweight in the world, boasting an impressive four-fight win streak.

And since Rashad Evans -- who is ranked No. 4 -- won't be returning to action anytime soon and Gustafsson (No. 3) is booked to take on Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 69 in Berlin, Germany, this June, Bader is sitting pretty in the title hunt.

Indeed, Team Bader has a good case for a shot at the strap, but will it happen?
