Hey, remember when Chad Mendes was just a wrestler?
Welp, those days are over, since "Money" has racked up four of his last five wins by way of knockout or technical knockout. Heck, he even went toe-to-toe with Jose Aldo in the stand-up at UFC 179 and almost won the damn fight, which gives you an idea of how talented Duane Ludwig is as a striking coach.
Get a look at his handy work at the expense of Clay Guida at UFC 164 below:
So, what can he do for an encore?
Try to replicate that standout performance against fellow WEC import and ex-division No. 1 contender Ricardo Lamas, who meets him in Saturday night's (April 4, 2014) featherweight main event of UFC Fight Night 63 on FOX Sports 1, scheduled for the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
Though as you can see in his fight against Dennis Bermudez at UFC 180, "The Bully" has more than a few tricks up his sleeve.
Any chance this thing goes all five rounds?
