Ovince St-Preux wants Quinton Jackson fight, Team Rampage ... not so much

Aside from his unanimous decision loss to Ryan Bader at UFC Fight Night 47 last year, Ovince St-Preux has been rather impressive during his short stint inside the Octagon.

Winning six of seven under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner -- including his most recent knockout victory over Patrick Cummins at UFC on FOX 15 earlier this month -- "OSP" looks to keep his momentum going by challenging former light heavyweight champion, Quinton Jackson.

That's according to a report from UFC Tonight, which had St-Preux's coach, Joey Zonar, stating that his pupil wants to take on "Rampage" at a proposed event in Tennessee on Aug. 8, 2015.

Interestingly enough, Jackson was born in Memphis while St-Preux played football for the Tennessee Volunteers during his college days. So the fight would be a homecoming for both combatants.

Unfortunately, the report also revealed that Team Jackson isn't too interested in the match up, saying "Thanks, but no thanks." Of course, those aren't Quinton's direct words, so there may still be some hope for "OSP."

For now, Jackson is basking in the glow of his successful return to the Octagon last weekend (Sat., April 25, 2015) at UFC 186 by out-scoring Fabio Maldonado in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (video highlights); as well as celebrating his legal win over Bellator MMA.

Anyone (other than Jackson's coaches) opposed to this match up?
