Jon Jones yanked from UFC rankings, Jose Aldo promoted to pound-for-pound king

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight titleholder Jose Aldo is the best pound-for-pound mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter in the world, according to the official UFC rankings.

Sorry, Demetrious Johnson.

"Junior" was promoted to the top spot when former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was stripped of his title and suspended indefinitely following his arrest for felony hit-and-run. In addition, lots of folks in the 205-pound division were afforded promotions, thanks to the absence of "Bones."

With Jones out of the picture, Anthony Johnson will move forward to fight Daniel Cormier at the UFC 187 pay-per-view (PPV) event on May 23 in Las Vegas, Nevada (more on that here), with the winner claiming the vacant light heavyweight title.
