Anthony Johnson is taking the high road, and it looks as if he just hit second gear.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight No. 1 contender was expecting to fight Jon Jones for the 205-pound title at the upcoming UFC 187 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on May 23, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Then, this happened.
As a result, "Rumble" has been paired off against Daniel Cormier, who was turned away by Jones at the UFC 182 event last January, but remains the top contender outside of Johnson -- thanks to the Blackzilian brawler's crushing knockout win over Alexander Gustafsson.
His thoughts on losing Jones?
@JonnyBones best of luck with everything bro. Regardless of everything you are still the greatest light heavyweight champion of all time!

As for fighting "DC" and the rest of the baggage that comes with Jones-Gate, see for yourself.
I'm gonna keep my mouth closed with everything I just heard and smile lol

That makes Ryan Bader -- originally booked to fight Cormier in June -- collateral damage.
Jones was released on $2500 bail earlier this week and after a brief court appearance (more on that here), will wait for the district attorney to decide on whether or not to indict "Bones" and send his case to the grand jury. In the meantime, the show must go on.
