Like a good neighbor, an off-duty cop was there.
Jon Jones has graduated from "fender bender" to "smacked-up vehicle" after smashing up his rented Buick. Unfortunately for the UFC light heavyweight champion, said smash-up also included other vehicles, one of which saw its pregnant driver head to the hospital with broken bones.
See how it all played out right here.
Jones was taken into custody on Monday night, more than 24 hours after leaving the scene of what amounts to a felony hit-and-run in Albuquerque, New Mexico. "Bones," who is still listed as the UFC 187 headliner on May 23, 2015, was released on $2500 bail (see his mugshot here).
The chances of this incident blowing over prior to UFC 187 seem rather slim, but Jones is innocent until proven guilty.
That said, he will have to answer for eyewitness testimony that has his famous face fleeing the scene of the crime. In addition, police will want to know why his rented Buick, or what's left of it, was housing a pipe and a stash of marijuana.
See you in court.
