Anthony Johnson reacts to Jon Jones drama ahead of UFC 187: 'Rumors don't stop me from being focused'

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight No. 1 contender, Anthony Johnson, is planning to fight for the promotion's 205-pound title at the upcoming UFC 187 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on May 23, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

But you know what they say about the best laid plans...

Whether or not Johnson gets to "Rumble" in "Sin City" largely depends on what happens with UFC light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones, who is wanted for questioning in a hit-and-run accident over the weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico (read the police report here).

So far, it's not looking good.

"Despite all the rumors you have been hearing, they don't stop me or keep me from being focused," Johnson wrote on Facebook. "Staying on my grind. #RumbleNation."

According to the promotion's official statement, no changes have been made to UFC 187 at this time.

If Jones is ruled unfit to compete over Memorial Day Weekend, UFC will likely promote the middleweight co-main event to the headlining spot (see it here). Whether or not Johnson gets a new opponent, perhaps Daniel Cormier or Ryan Bader, who are both currently in training camp, may depend on whether or not "Bones" is suspended and possibly even stripped of his title (because of this).

Lots of pieces to this puzzle fight fans ... stay tuned as we slowly-but-surely snap them into place.
