Manny Pacquiao skips MGM Grand Arrivals, sneaks into Las Vegas 'without all the hoopla'

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

MGM Grand is hosting the "Mayweather vs. Pacquiao" Grand Arrivals tomorrow (Tues., April 28, 2015) in advance of this weekend's big boxing pay-per-view (PPV) inside the Las Vegas hotel's Garden Arena.

But it looks to be a one-man show.

That's because Manny Pacquiao needs to do things in a calm and orderly manner, according to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, and won't be taking part in the pomp and circumstance that accompanies the traditional red-carpet ceremony.

Besides, he's not even bunking at the MGM.

"We don't need a show for his arrival and we can do without all the hoopla," Arum told ESPN.com. "We'll keep it calm for Manny. We'll get a big room downstairs at Mandalay Bay, and Manny will talk to the press there in an orderly way and in a comfortable environment. I think that's a lot better for Manny and, frankly, it's better for the press. Why does he need a grand arrival when he's not even staying at that place?"

"Pac Man" arrived on Monday and was quickly ushered into the nearby Mandalay Bay.

Pacquiao's opponent, undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr., is no stranger to the bright lights and big city of Las Vegas, Nevada, where he's generated millions of dollars for himself, as well as for the local economy. This weekend will be no different (which explains this) and who knows, maybe a close fight will warrant a fall rematch.

Assuming you can afford two "Mayweather vs. Pacquiao" PPV events in one year.
