Michael Bisping was out to prove his mixed martial arts (MMA) career was far from over, and after surviving an early scare, "The Count" did just that.
Bisping put in a clinical performance inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon during the UFC 186 pay-per-view (PPV) last night (Sat., April 25, 2015) inside the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
In need of a win following his beatdown at the hands of Luke Rockhold, Bisping's striking looked as crisp as ever, putting together impressive combinations on Dollaway throughout the fight. Although the Brit was rocked early in the bout, he stormed back with barrages of his own in order to secure the decision victory.
While Bisping once again displayed his major lack of power, his precision and technical ability on the feet is still quite impressive. The issue is, not everyone in UFC's middleweight division is as stiff on the feet as CB Dollaway.
The win keeps Bisping alive in the 185-pound division, but his performance did not make it seem like he can compete with the likes of Ronaldo Souza, Lyoto Machida, Luke Rockhold, or any other top-ranked middleweight today.
As for Dollaway, the loss to Bisping marks his second in a row, and you can expect UFC brass to feed "The Doberman" an easier matchup his next time out. If he can't pull out the victory then, he may be on his way out of UFC.
