Total domination, and a submission to cap it all off
Demetrious Johnson retained his Flyweight title for the sixth time inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon after completely outclassing Kyoji Horiguchi in the main event of UFC 186 last night (Sat., April 25, 2015) inside the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Wherever the fight was contested, "Mighty Mouse" was superior. After threatening over and over with takedowns, the champ forced Horiguchi into a defensive shell. After five rounds of immaculate mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting, Johnson closed the show with a highlight-reel armbar in the very last second of the fight.
Most expected Johnson to win, but it would be hard to conjure up the champ pulling off the latest finish in UFC history.
Horiguchi fought valiantly, but ultimately he did not have what it takes to defeat arguably the best fighter in MMA today. It is time for the Japanese native to go back to the drawing board.
As for the champ, Johnson will likely be very interested in the recently announced Henry Cejudo vs Chico Camus fight at UFC 188.
