DISH Network dumps UFC, removes 'Johnson vs. Horiguchi' from PPV line up

David Manning-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is all set to deliver its UFC 186: "Johnson vs. Horiguchi" mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which takes place this Saturday night (April 25, 2015) inside the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, live on pay-per-view (PPV).

To everybody except DISH Network subscribers.

That's because UFC and DISH were unable to agree on terms for a new contract, which means UFC 186 will no longer be available to those combat sports fans who subscribe to the satellite provider. Luckily for them, we'll be providing live results, updates, and play-by-play all night long.

The official statement from UFC.com:

Due to contractual issues, DISH Network will not be offering UFC 186: Johnson vs. Horiguchi on Pay-Per-View this Saturday. While all other providers in the U.S. have come to an agreement on renewal terms, DISH Network has elected not to renew its distribution agreement with UFC. We have enjoyed a strong and productive relationship with DISH over the years, and while we're disappointed with their decision, we are confident that our fans will be able to enjoy this weekend's card through several other viewing options that you can read more about by clicking here. We remain hopeful that an agreement can be reached with DISH in the near future, but remain committed to ensuring that all fans have continued access to UFC events through multiple distribution options.

Take care now, bye bye then.

Fortunately in this day and age, several alternate options are available for viewing, including YouTube and UFC Fight Pass. And hey, when all else fails, there is always your local watering hole -- assuming the usual suspects like Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings are shelling out for this particular card.

Let's just hope they don't use DISH Network.
