The dust has barely settled on UFC on FOX 15: "Machida vs. Rockhold" from Newark, N.J., which means it's time to honor those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights this evening(Sat., April 18, 2015) inside Prudential Arena.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who is heading home from "Brick City" with a little extra grease for their efforts.
Gian Villante and Corey Anderson were recognized for their back-and-forth 205-pound slugfest on the "Prelims" under card, which ultimately ended with Villante scoring a technical knockout finish with less than one minute remaining in the match. Max Holloway, who was taking a huge step up in 145-pound competition, earned a little extra cheddar for his late-round submission of top-ranked contender, Cub Swanson, too (read full recap here).
That's not all.
Of course, Luke Rockhold needed his pocket lined after completely dismantling former Light Heavyweight champion, Lyoto Machida, in the main event (read full recap here).
It was really, really impressive.
Here are the special UFC on FOX 15 bonuses:
Fight of the Night -- Gian Villante vs. Corey Anderson
Performance of the Night -- Luke Rockhold
Performance of the Night -- Max Holloway
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which UFC will more than likely keep confidential since "The Garden State" typically keeps those figures under lock and key.
