UFC gets CM Punk and WWE gets ... Matt Riddle?
It's certainly a possibility, as The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 grad landed a May tryout with the world's largest pro wrestling organization in Orlando, Florida, according to Wrestlinginc.com, which is a considerable feat considering "Deep Waters" has only been training for about a year.
Though he might want to ditch that nickname and go for something a little more Wrasslin' friendly.
Fighter Highabusa?
Riddle, who stands 6'2" and tips the scale at 225 pounds, finished his MMA career with a record of 8-3, but didn't exactly leave on the best of terms. After a public and messy blowout with UFC President Dana White, the man who obliterated Dan Simmler's jaw flirted with Bellator MMA, but was forced to retire after the promotion failed to give him a fight.
He briefly came out of retirement for Titan Fighting Championship, but that ended on a sour note, as well.
Perhaps it was for the best, as Riddle used those setbacks as motivation to hook up with The Monster Factory to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a pro wrestler. And hey, if former Real World star Mike Mizanin can headline WrestleMania opposite John Cena, surely there's a spot in the WWE minor leagues, NXT, for an ex-MMA "name."
