Video: Here's your first look at new Tapout training gear following jump to WWE

I know what you're thinking.

The whole point of Tapout is that it pays tribute to mixed martial arts (MMA) fights where guys "tap out."

Well, Mr. UFC-pants, may I remind you that plenty of capable men have already submitted to John Cena's STFU, as well as Daniel Bryan's Yes! Lock. And don't even get me started on The Undertaker's Hell's Gate, because that's the kind of hold that can end careers.

With that in mind, don't think of the new alignment between Tapout and WWE as a defection, but rather as a natural progression.

"What's great about Tapout is that we've been around so long that we kind of excel beyond, we mean more than the UFC," Tapout President Dan "Punkass" Caldwell told MMA Junkie. "It's athletics, it's -- when you think about Quiksilver or Volcom, it doesn't mean you have to be a surfer to wear Volcom. But yet, that's what it is. A lot of people don't even think about that anymore. It's just a brand that's out there. It's a brand that's made its way, and it's excelled beyond its own sport, and I feel that's where Tapout is today."

And with UFC jumping into bed with Reebok, it's every brand for themselves.

So ... you buying?
