Report: Ben Saunders injured, pulled from UFC Fight Night 62 bout against Erick Silva

And the injuries just keep on coming.

In the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA), it often seems the injury bug is solely focused on ruining one specific event, as it is not uncommon to see four or five injuries plague a single Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) card.

The latest culprit is UFC Fight Night 62, which is scheduled to air live on FOX Sports 1 on March 21, 2015 inside Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Brazilian MMA event has already lost three major fights -- including the scheduled main event between Urijah Faber and Raphael Assuncao -- and today news broke of yet another devastating injury that could cripple the already paper-thin event.

According to Sherdog, exciting welterweight Ben Saunders was injured in training and was forced to withdraw from his scheduled main card bout against Erick Silva.

Bummer.

With UFC officials yet to comment on the injury, details are scarce as to what exactly happened to "Killa B" and whether or not a replacement opponent will be named for Silva on just two weeks' notice.

Brazilian fans expecting to attend this event have now lost the opportunity to watch Urijah Faber, Raphael AssuncaoJosh Thomson, Matt Wiman, Ben Saunders, and potentially Erick Silva if no replacement can be found.

Brutal.
