Top Filipino prospect Mark Striegl is set to make his promotional debut when he faces off against undefeated American Casey Suire in the co main event of ONE: "Valor of Champions," which is set for the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila on April 24th and will be headlined by a welterweight title bout between Ben Askren vs. Luis Santos.
Striegl (13-1 ) was one of the most sought-after free agents in the world when ONE Championship snapped him up last year and will be looking to establish himself as an immediate contender in the bantamweight division when he faces an opponent who has won two fights out of two for Asia's biggest MMA promotion.
Earlier this year Striegl began training at Evolve MMA in Singapore having been based in Baguio for the majority of his MMA career and he has a big fan base in the Philippines where he has fought numerous times for both PXC and the URCC.
Suire (5-0) is based in Indonesia and has been training with Andrew and Anthony Leone at Bali MMA in preparation for this fight. He has won both his ONE Championship fights so far with submissions in the opening round but knows he faces a big step up against an opponent who has established himself as one of the division's elite.
Also added to the card today was a flyweight bout which pits charismatic Filipino Eugene Toquero (5-1) against Indonesian Brianata Rosadhi (1-1) while the main event will see Askren (14-0) make the first defense of his welterweight title against Santos (61-9-1).
