David Branch vs. Ronny Markes booked for WSOF 20 main event on April 10

WSOF

With Vinny Magalhaes sidelined due to contractual issues (more on that here), World Series of Fighting (WSOF) was forced to shake up its four-man light heavyweight title tournament. As a result, middleweight kingpin David Branch will move up to 205 pounds to fight Ronny Markes.

The promotion announced the switcheroo on Thursday.

They'll do the deed in the WSOF 20 main event, which takes place on April 10, 2015 inside Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Ledyard, Conn., and also features a lightweight showdown pitting Melvin Guillard opposite Ozzy Dugulubgov, while Nick Newell bangs with Joe Condon in 155-pound action.

Both Branch and Markes -- imported from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after sub-par performances -- are 15-3; however, the former has won five straight while the latter is coming off a 1-2 stretch. Markes also competed at middleweight, but he likely has more to lose heading into this fight.
