It's the rematch you were dying to not see.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight contender Thiago Silva, who defeated Matt Hamill by way of ugly unanimous decision in late 2013, will run it back against "The Hammer" in the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 19 co-main event, set for March 28, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona.
That's because Vinny Magalhaes, who was supposed to fight Hamill at WSOF 20 this April in Connecticut, is stuck in contractual limbo, according to MMA Fighting, thanks to an existing deal with Titan Fighting Championship (Titan FC), where "Pezao" is the reigning 205-pound champion.
Silva was originally slated to fight UFC import Ronny Markes as part of the promotion's light heavyweight contender tournament; however, the Brazilian will be repackaged for a future card without losing his spot in the 205-pound tourney
Expect more fight announcements for WSOF 19, headlined by the Justin Gaethje vs. Luis Palomino lightweight title fight, in the coming days.
