It wasn't quite a smack, but Conor McGregor caused a bit of a stir at today's (Tues., March 31, 2015) UFC 189 "World Tour" press conference in Dublin, Ireland.
The Irish fans were absolutely going nuts from the get go, as the mixed martial arts (MMA) media couldn't relay their questions to the fighters without being interrupted by the raucous crowd.
And you knew it was only a matter of time before Conor fed off the energy. He did just that by reaching over to Aldo's table, then emphatically snatching the featherweight title away before holding it up to the crowd. Unlike the first time he did it, a furious "Junior" jumped up in anger to get it back.
Fortunately, it was Dana White and not Dave Sholler who was in the middle of the action, as he (along with his security detail) were able to separate the two men before they came to blows.
The stop in Ireland concluded the whirlwind tour that took Conor and Aldo across the globe for 10 stops in 11 days. Thankfully for Jose, it is now over and he no longer has to put up with McGregor's antics and non-stop trash talk.
That said, what he had to endure from "Notorious" during the World Tour only added more fuel and motivation for the Brazilian bomber to retain his title when the two men finally go toe-to-toe at UFC 189 on July 11, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That's three long months from now.
