Chael Sonnen: Jon Jones vs. Anthony Johnson fight 'won't happen' at UFC 187, 'mark my words'

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Uh oh.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is going to defend his title against division No. 1 contender Anthony Johnson in the UFC 187 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on May 23, 2015, inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Except he isn't.

That's according to former 205-pound title contender Chael Sonnen, who insists the main event will fail to materialize, though he didn't provide specifics. Drug test? Injury? Complete and utter bullshit designed to troll fight fans? All three are a distinct possibility.

Bloody Elbow captured Sonnen's "Ask Me Anything" chat from Reddit:

Here's how the conversation went:

Fan: Will Jon Jones lose to Rumble?

Sonnen: JJ/AJ won't happen.

A few questions down later, he was asked the same thing:

Fan: Hey Chael big fan! What do you think about Jones vs Johnson?

Sonnen: Won't happen. Mark my words.

UFC 187 is a little less than two months away.

Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has already implemented its random drug testing for the Memorial Day Weekend extravaganza (showing up at this fighter's doorstep). In addition, several major events have already been affected by the injury bug.

Anyone putting any stock into Nostrasonnen's prediction, or have you remained cautiously optimistic?
