UFC Quick Quote: UFC spent more money promoting 'Aldo vs. McGregor' than any other fight in history

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

"Personally, I think this is the biggest fight of the year. This is a fight the world will be watching. When you have a fight where countries, literally countries care about the fight, it's a big deal. All of Brazil will be watching (Aldo) defend his title, all of the UK will be watching. And then you have Canada, the United States, Australia... It's a big deal fight. It's a big enough deal that we are doing this world tour. I'm gonna go out there and say, we probably spent more money promoting this fight than we have ever spent on any fight in UFC history."

While it's a fight that probably sells itself (thanks to this), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White (via UFC Tonight) isn't taking any chances, embarking on his UFC 189 World Tour to promote the "Aldo vs. McGregor" pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on July 11, 2015 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada (ticket information here). We still have a few months before fight night and the promotion hasn't even mentioned the epic co-main event pitting welterweight kingpin Robbie Lawler against 170-pound wunderkind Rory MacDonald (details). Those are the only two fights "official" for UFC 189 at this time and it's already the second-best card of the year (behind this). But will you, the fan, shell out $60 to watch it?
