UFC 188: Kelvin Gastelum vs. Nate Marquardt set for June 13 in Mexico City

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) -- as promised -- has sent The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 champion Kelvin Gastelum back to the 185-pound division, where he throws hands against Nate Marquardt at the UFC 188 pay-per-view (PPV) event, booked for June 13, 2015 inside Mexico City Arena.

UFC announced the bout on Tuesday.

Gastelum (10-1) is 5-1 since graduating the combat sports reality show; however, his relocation to 170 pounds didn't pan out, thanks to several failed weight cuts, the most recent of which got him promoted booted him from the welterweight division until further notice.

Misery loves company.

Marquardt (33-14-2) has been around forever, which not coincidentally, feels like how long it's been since he was relevant at 185 pounds. "The Great" also tried his hand at 170 pounds but is just 1-4 over his last five, even after coming back to middleweight in recent fights.

Soon to be 36, another loss could spell the end of his Octagon career.

UFC 188 features a heavyweight title unification bout pitting reigning kingpin Cain Velasquez opposite interim champion Fabricio Werdum. In addition, former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez collides with ex-Bellator straphanger Eddie Alvarez, while Tecia Torres battles fellow TUF standout Angela Hill.
