Anthony Pettis hasn't been getting much trash talk from his upcoming opponent, Rafael dos Anjos, who he will fight this weekend (Sat., March 14, 2015) at UFC 185 in Dallas, Texas, but he has been getting a heavy dose from Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"The Eagle" has constantly picked on "Showtime," saying that he's been avoiding him and gone as far as questioned his fight skills.
And while Pettis' focus is strictly on "RDA" at the moment, he took the time to send a message to the Dagestani during today's (March 12, 2015) media day (via MMA Fighting).
"He wants his title shot so he's got to talk as much as he can. He's got "Cowboy" to get through, and "Cowboy" is a task. If he gets through him, I hope he does get through him because I want to whoop this guys ass because I'm tired of hearing him talk."
Nurmagomedov and Donald Cerrone are scheduled to face off at UFC 187 on May 23, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada (details). And even though the lightweight bout hasn't been pegged as a title eliminator fight, it's widely believed the winner will earn a shot at the division strap.
And in a perfect scenario, "Showtime" would love nothing more than to walk out of "Big D" with his title this Saturday and have Nurmagomedov defeat Cerrone so he can shut his mouth once and for all.
First things first, though.
