With Pat Barry injured, GLORY 20 now features two title fights on Spike TV

Pat Barry is out with a hand injury, which means GLORY 20 in Dubai will now feature featherweight and lightweight title fights on Spike TV.

Pat Barry has withdrawn from his scheduled GLORY 20 heavyweight match up against Mourad Bouzidi.

MMAmania.com received confirmation from the promotion on Thursday afternoon (March 12, 2015), that "HD" suffered an injury to his hand during training, forcing him off the Dubai fight card on April 3, 2015. This would have been Barry's second fight with the kickboxing promotion. The former UFC heavyweight lost to Zack Mwekassa in his promotion debut at GLORY 16 last April.

As for Bouzidi, there is currently no word as to whether the organization will find a replacement for the Tunisian heavyweight and place him on the Superfight Series card, or on a future event.

In need to fill an opening on the Dubai fight card, GLORY will now move the inaugural featherweight title fight between Gabriel Varga and Mosab Amrani -- which was originally scheduled to headline the Superfight Series -- to the co-main event of the evening.

GLORY 20: "Dubai" is headlined by a lightweight title fight between current champion Robin van Roosmalen and Andy "The Machine" Ristie. The title fight is a rematch from the GLORY 12 lightweight tournament final, where Ristie knocked out Van Roosmalen with a vicious uppercut in the second round.

Since that loss, Van Roosmalen has won two straight bouts and defeated Davit Kiria at GLORY 18 to win the lightweight title, improving his record to 9-2 in GLORY.

"The Machine," who lost the inaugural GLORY lightweight title fight to Kiria at GLORY 14 in Zagreb last March by knockout in the fifth round, has now won two straight fights in GLORY, both by knockout, to get a second crack at the title.

In addition to the two title fights, GLORY 20 will hold its usual one-night tournament.

This time, time it will be in the middleweight division, as Simon Marcus takes on Wayne Barrett. And in the other semifinal match-up, Alex Pereira battles Jason Wilnis. The winner earns the right to face GLORY middleweight champion Artem Levin at GLORY 21 in San Diego on May 8, 2015.
