Manny Pacquiao: Ronda Rousey would beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA fight

Manny Pacquiao is a man of few words. But, when the WBO welterweight boxing champion of the world talks, his words speak volumes.

While making the media rounds on Wednesday, "Pac Man" was asked if he believes current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, can beat "Money" in a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight.

And his answer may surprise you.

"I believe so, she is strong and is strong enough to beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA," said Manny during his chat with ESPN's "His and Hers" show.

UFC President Dana White has gone on record numerous times proclaiming that "Rowdy" would have no problem getting a "W" over Mayweather inside the eight-walled cage -- or even in a street fight. But it takes on an entirely different meaning when one of Floyd's fellow pugilists changes teams.

Of course, it's very easy to flip the script and say Mayweather would easily crush "Rowdy" in a pure boxing match.

And despite the many claims and predictions that Rousey can beat most male bantamweights under the UFC banner, a fight between a male and female will never happen. Something Rousey herself recently alluded to.

Sorry, Cowboy.

One bout that will happen, however, is a long-awaited boxing match between Pacquiao and Mayweather, which is finally set to go down on May 2, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada (details). While it may be five years too late for some, the "mega fight" is sure to do massive numbers at the box office.

And if Bob Arum doesn't come through on his promise to give Rousey a free ticket to what is sure to be a sold-out event, Pacquiao says he has a ticket for the queen of MMA, as well.

Not surprising.
