Women's Bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, returned to the Octagon tonight (Sat., Feb. 28, 2015) to defend her 135-pound crown against No. 1-ranked division contender, Cat Zingano, in the main event of UFC 184 inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
And "Rowdy" never looked better.
Zingano, however, made a critical mistake. "Alpha" attempted to surprise "Rowdy" with a flying knee to start the match, which proved to ultimately be her undoing. Rousey stepped aside, used her judo, and tossed Zingano on her head in a wild scramble.
Rousey snagged her arm, isolated it, and began to torque like only she can. Zingano tried to escape, but the pressure was just too much, forcing her to tap just 14 seconds into the biggest fight of her life.
Zingano attempted to explain what went wrong during the post-fight interview, but all she could muster was, "F*ck." She got way too reckless and got caught by the best female submission artist in mixed martial arts (MMA) today.
Rousey, essentially, has already cleaned out the women's Bantamweight division. Bring on the hot wings, not Holly Holm, because she's just not ready for Rousey.
Not if tonight's performances are any indication at least.
